A bit about Altitude
Formerly known as Allard Manson, Altitude are an Australian based structural and civil engineering consultancy. Bridge design is what they’re known for, and best at. After a buyout they approached us to give their business a revamp.
What they needed
They wanted a fresh approach – a new name, full rebrand, and a clear way to communicate their business offering.
Our Approach
During the discovery phase we were taken back to school geometry lessons, where we found the altitude of a triangle is a perpendicular line from a vertex to the opposite side of a figure. Architects use it to work out how sturdy a bridge will be. We used this new found knowledge for the name.
For the logotype, we played on the construct by incorporating an ‘altitude’ (in the form of a mark) in its most diluted form by rotating the letter L. This allowed us to use the mark as a separate entity, giving it flexibility to be used across different applications.
The colour palette mixes black and blue, a subtle nod to traditional blueprints used by architects.
